About Us

James Adair established JG Adair, Chartered Building Surveyor in 1999.  After graduating in a Building Surveying degree in Glasgow he worked for an NHS Hospital Trust, in Dorset County Council, for a firm of building surveyors and latterly as a surveyor within a firm of engineers.  His experience included work on hospitals, schools, infrastructure works as well as commercial and domestic buildings. It included design work, specification of works, insurance claims, maintenance schedules as well as surveys.  He was admitted as an Associate (now Member) of the RICs in 1996

The practice was established to provide an independent surveying practice in Winchester and offer a customer focused service.  Unlike many firms it has no links to estate agents.

​

He gained a Diploma in management in 1997 and was admitted as a member of the Chartered Institute of Management that year.  Subsequently he has gained  recognition as a Chartered Manager within the Institute.  As a Chartered manager he has led a company in the utilities sector to gain and retain ISO9000 recognition for their management systems.
